Inulin is a natural water-soluble dietary fiber. It is a natural fructan carbohydrate contained in plants. It is another form of energy storage for plants other than starch. It is a natural prebiotics, in addition to the efficacy of prebiotics, it is also metabolized in the intestine to produce short-chain fatty acids. It has been part of our daily diet for hundreds of years, as you find it in many fruits and vegetables, such as bananas, onions, and wheat. Of which the Jerusalem artichoke is a particularly rich source. Inulin is the only natural product that has dual properties of prebiotics and dietary fiber. 

Inulin is not digested in the stomach nor in the small intestine. They pass through much of the digestive system intact and are totally, and selectively, fermented in the colon by the beneficial intestinal microbiota.

With at least 30-percent of the sweetness of sucrose, Joywin’s Inulin does not only offer all the nutritional benefits of fibre. It can even add a mildly sweet taste to food and beverages.
