Chondroitin Sulfate

Chondroitin Sulfate Sodium is a kind of acid mucopolysaccharide extracted from healthy, edible and home bred animals cartilage or bird and shark cartilage. It is composed of Chondroitin Sulphate A/C and various Chondroitin Sulphate. Which is widely present in fish, mammalian and bird cartilage. In cartilage Chondroitin Sulfate bound with protein as glycoprotein and bound with collagen protein.

Chondroitin Sulfate Sodium consists mostly of the sodium salt of the sulfate ester of N-acetylchondrosamine (2-acetamido-2-deoxy-β-Dgalactopyranose) and D-glucuronic acid copolymer. These hexoses are alternately linked β-1,4 and β-1,3 in the polymer. Chondrosamine moieties in the prevalent glycosaminoglycan are monosulfated primarily on position 4 and less so on position 6.

Chondroitin Sulphate Sodium is a white powder, odourless, tasteless, hygroscopicity, freely soluble in water and insoluble in organic solvent such as ethanol, acetone and aether and so on. Chondroitin Sulphate aqueous solution is instable under high temperature or acid, deacetylation degrade into monosaccharide or low molucule weight polysaccharide.
