Chinese Chondroitin Sulphate Facility Receives COS Certification

CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA, July 20, 2010—Herman Zhang, founder and president of Pacific Rainbow International, Inc., announced today that Yantai Dongcheng Biochemicals Co., Ltd. (Dongcheng), Yantai, China, has received a Certificate of Suitability (COS) from the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & Healthcare (EDQM) for chondroitin sulphate sodium. Pacific Rainbow has a 21.67% ownership of the Doncheng facility and handles all the marketing and customer service for its chondroitin sulphate in the U.S.

The COS covers both the chemistry and TSE of the chondroitin sulphate. The Dongcheng facility is the first in China to receive this double certification.

“The COS demonstrates that the quality of our chondroitin sulphate is guaranteed and that it complies with the European Pharmacopeia and requirements of EU directives for medicines,” said Zhang.

Dongcheng is GMP and ISO 9001-certified.
